LIBRARY & ARCHIVES

The Foundation’s library covers a wide range of artistic subjects, with a special focus on 15th- to 18th-century paintings, sculptures and tapestries from the Southern Netherlands. The library also has special holdings dedicated to the technical study of artworks and their conservation and restoration, as well as an important collection of catalogues from auction houses and art galleries dating from the late 20th century to the present, including catalogues of Christie’s and Sotheby’s Old Master Paintings sales since the 1980s. The image library holds an important collection of photographs, particularly of Flemish paintings, Brabant altarpieces and mural paintings. The archives contain a wide range of documents from studies carried out by Catheline Périer-D’Ieteren, Paul Philippot and Sophie Schneebalg-Perelman in the fields of art history and conservation-restoration.
